Charlene “Amina” Sams is a dedicated community advocate, educator, and wellness leader committed to strengthening schools and supporting the success of every child in the Christina School District.
For more than 15 years, Charlene has worked directly with youth and families across Wilmington, helping communities build resilience, emotional wellness, and stronger connections through evidence-based yoga and mindfulness programs.
Now she is running for Christina School Board to bring that same commitment to our classrooms, students, and families.

Get to Know Charlene
Since 2012, Charlene has served Wilmington communities by providing programs that support youth development, emotional health, and community well-being.
Her work includes:
• Leading yoga and mindfulness programs for children and families
• Supporting youth in juvenile detention centers with evidence-based practices that help regulate stress and emotions
• Partnering with community organizations to strengthen families and promote healing
Charlene believes that when we support the whole child, academically, emotionally, and socially, our schools and communities thrive.

Attendance is key to success. Charlene supports creative solutions and community partnerships that help keep students engaged and present in school.
